When Does 2027 MCAT Registration Open?
The AAMC opens scheduling for all 2027 test dates in three regional waves. Popular dates and centers can fill fast, so know your group and have a backup date ready.
Per the AAMC, everyone in the online waiting room at 11:50 a.m. ET is randomly assigned a place in line, so logging in earlier than about 15 minutes before opening doesn't help. What are the 2027 MCAT test dates?+
As published by the AAMC, the 2027 U.S. MCAT testing year runs from January 15 to September 11, 2027, with 35 test dates: January 15, 16, 21, 29 and 30; February 12; March 6 and 19; April 9, 10, 16 and 17; May 1, 7, 8, 13, 14, 21 and 29; June 11, 12, 25 and 26; July 9, 10, 23 and 30; August 14, 20, 21 and 28; and September 2, 3, 10 and 11. January 30, May 14, July 9 and August 28 are offered only at select test centers.
When does 2027 MCAT registration open?+
The AAMC opens scheduling for all 2027 test dates on October 20–22, 2026, by test-center region: Group A (much of the eastern U.S.) on Tuesday, October 20 at noon ET; Group B (central and western U.S.) on Wednesday, October 21 at noon ET; and Group C (Canada, U.S. territories and international centers) on Thursday, October 22 at noon ET.
When are 2027 MCAT scores released?+
MCAT scores are released by 5:00 p.m. ET on the score release date the AAMC assigns to each test date — roughly 30 to 35 days after you test. For example, the January 15, 2027 exam releases scores on February 16, and the September 11, 2027 exam releases on October 12, 2027.
Is the MCAT offered in October, November or December 2027?+
No. The AAMC's 2027 testing year runs from January through September only. The last 2027 U.S. test dates are September 10 and 11, 2027.
What is the last day to register or reschedule for an MCAT date?+
The 10-day deadline is the last day to schedule, reschedule or cancel a reservation and to edit registration details. All deadlines fall at 11:59 p.m. local test-center time. Reschedule fees rise as you pass the 60-day and 30-day deadlines, and cancellation refunds end at the 30-day deadline — see the AAMC's scheduling-fee table.
What time does the MCAT start?+
According to the AAMC's 2027 U.S. calendar, the standard start time is 8:00 a.m. on each test date unless the AAMC notes otherwise. Plan to arrive early for check-in — the full test day runs about 7.5 hours.
Which MCAT test date should I pick?+
Work backwards from your application. Pick a date that leaves you enough full-length practice tests to be consistently scoring at your goal, and whose score release lands before you plan to submit your application. If you might need a retake, testing earlier in the year keeps a second date open. Popular dates and test centers fill quickly after registration opens, so have a first and second choice ready.
