Registering for a 2027 MCAT date costs $360 — or $145 with AAMC fee assistance. Miss a deadline, though, and reschedule fees climb to $210. Here's every fee, and how to avoid paying more than you need to.
Last checked against the AAMC's fee schedule: October 2026
One registration fee covers one test date. All amounts are in U.S. dollars.
What you pay to change your date or test center — and what you get back if you cancel — depends on how far you are from test day. Deadlines fall at 11:59 p.m. local test-center time.

The expensive mistake:booking a date you aren't ready for, then moving it late. Rescheduling inside 30 days costs $210 — and cancelling then refunds nothing. Check your readiness with full-length practice tests before the 30-day deadline on the 2027 MCAT test dates calendar.
For examinees who, without financial help, could not take the MCAT or apply through AMCAS.
Instead of $360, with reduced reschedule fees ($25–$85).
The AAMC lists free MCAT Official Prep products among FAP benefits.
You need final FAP approval before you choose your test date and location.
The AAMC suggests submitting your FAP application at least five business days before registration opens. Canadian examinees apply through a separate AAMC/AFMC program.
A second sitting means another $360, another study block, and possibly a delayed application. The cheapest insurance is knowing your score before test day: take realistic, scored full-length practice tests and only sit the real exam when you're consistently at your goal.
As published by the AAMC, standard MCAT registration for 2027 test dates costs $360. With an approved AAMC Fee Assistance Program (FAP) benefit, registration is $145. Examinees testing outside the U.S., Canada or U.S. territories pay an additional $130 international fee.
Changing your date and/or test center costs $55 if you reschedule 60 or more days before the exam, $110 at 30–59 days, and $210 at 10–29 days (Fee Assistance Program examinees pay $25, $45 and $85). No changes are allowed fewer than 10 days before the exam.
Partially. Under the AAMC's 2027 fee schedule, cancelling 30 or more days before your exam refunds $180 of the $360 standard fee ($75 for Fee Assistance Program examinees). Cancelling 10–29 days out refunds $0, and no cancellations are allowed fewer than 10 days before the exam. The $130 international fee is non-refundable.
The AAMC Fee Assistance Program helps examinees who, without financial assistance, would be unable to take the MCAT or apply to medical schools that use AMCAS. Benefits include the reduced $145 MCAT registration fee and reduced change fees, free MCAT Official Prep products, and more. You must receive final approval before you select your test date and location.
The AAMC's MCAT Registration System accepts American Express, Visa, Discover and Mastercard, including debit cards with the Visa or Mastercard logo. Depending on where you test, applicable sales tax, VAT, GST or similar taxes may be added when you schedule.
